So you want to try Anal?

Well that’s perfectly natural!

What is “Anal Sex”:

Sexual activity involving the penetration of the anus
Note: the anus is one of several erogenous zones! An Erogenous Zone is “a sensitive area on the body that causes sexual arousal when it is touched”.

August is “Anal Pleasure Month!” and a perfect excuse for us to talk to you about Anal Play.

A lot of people have become more open to the joys of Anal Pleasure but still move with hesitation, and rightfully so.

The Anus is not as flexible and easy to enter as other holes. The start to exploring pleasure in this space requires practice and a “slow” enter to avoid any incidents (such as anal fissures, risk of infections, and colon perforation).

It is important to keep an open mind. The focus is exploring pleasure. You do NOT have to have any certain label on YOUR sexual orientation. Anal can be and is for ALL to explore and enjoy.

Communication & Consent!

All acts of sex require consent. Consent is granted through communication! If anal is something you wish to explore with your playmate, giving or receiving, then you must communicate. There are too many horror stories out there of someone just trying to “slip” it in. Not only can you cause physical trauma, but also mental.

Sex requires safety and comfort. A person must always be relaxed with all sex but especially anal. The Anus does not relax and receive like some other orifices, please do not surprise visit.

Also! One should always communicate comfort and discomfort. Your partner needs to be aware of when they are causing pain and should be aware when giving pleasure. Set the tone and the pace via communication!

Hygiene

Cleanliness is good manners, for yourself and your partner, but do keep in mind that possible feces sightings during anal play are normal.

Basic hygiene goes a long way. A wash around and in the area is a great place to start. Or for extra cleanliness you can always douche! (please follow instructions and allow your mucus lining to replenish).

Prepping can be messy and so can play time, but it is all NORMAL! Have plenty of lube, towels, and wipes ready. Make it a part of your after care!
